HATRED TOWARDS ARMENIANS IN AZERBAIJAN

One
of the agenda issues of the two newly independent states and all Armenians
from the very first days has been appreciation of their own identity,
its maintenance and development against which whith its sharp stick, has always
been and remains the political car of Azerbaijan from low-level officials to
the President. More than two decades ago the anti-propaganda launched with a
new spirit gained new momentum due to the latest technology advances. But it’s
more important for us not to concentrate on incidents,but on the whole event.
As we know, hatred towards Armenians, aggression dissemination, forgery and
embezzlement of historical and cultural values and implementation of a number
of other insidious purposes towards
politics are not new to us: roots are very deep and dropped out a long time ago.
The President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliev has always mentioned obout such a
policy and continues to mention,his aim has always been and remains the recovery of "historic lands and
territories” of Azerbaijan,and for making it possible they use one of the worst
methods – the hatred towards Armenians in Azerbaijan and the “creation” of
their history using the history of other nations. An integral part of this
policy is sowing hatred towards Armenians. One of the most striking
manifestations of such a policy is Aliyev's recent statement;he mentions: “Youth,
children should live on the idea of the return of our ancestrial lands including Armenia”.
A.Sargsyan represents more precisely the policy of
targeted bases of Azerbaijan: “Various falsifications observed in Azerbaijan
aim to undermine the political and legal basis for determination of Artsakh,to
form Azerbaijani aidentity of claimant towards Artsakh,as well as to escalate the anti- Armenian atmosphere”.
Literature,text-books,Media etc. are the most popular
platforms for Xenophobia and large-scale dissemination. “Tell me,-Writes Berk
,- what are the moods dominated in the minds of children,and I will tell you the character of
the next generation”. So from here it is already clear what is the aim of
Azrbaijani text-books. At the same time, the Azerbaijani “caviar and petro-dollar
policy’’ fator should be mentioned. Due to this the events taking place on the
front are distorted from European high chairs, give biased estimates to the
current situation in Armenia and Azerbaijan. But some facts should also be
mentioned:

The resources of Azerbaijan are not
limited,and one day the petro-dollars will be finished,due to which the history
of Azerbaijan with “office basis” is create.

Armenia is behind Azerbaijan in the
current fight and ,sure, our resources are limited in this sphere,though being a question of the schedule.
·
We have advantages only as much as we
try to protect our own history,whereas Azerbaijan tries to edit history and to
create it in a past date.
To
avoid semantic and functional misunderstanding in the text,it should be noted
that it’s not right to use the word “Azerbaijani” as such a nation just doesn’t
exist,there exists only a territory ,which is called Azerbaijan,so the people
who live there can be called Azerbaijani habitants.This question was also
examined by A. Manasyan,who writes . “ In the beginning of the 21st
century in the north of Araks today’s territory or half of the territory which
was under the power of Azerbaijan,got the independence. It was decided in
advance that it would be called ”Eastern
and Southern Caucasian Republic” , but “Musavat” could change this decision and
to rename the country “The Republic of
Azerbaijan”. According to this decision the iinhabitants who were called Tyurks
or Caucasian Tatars, already in the 1930s were called Azerbaijani people. So
this is how the Azerbaijani “nation” was born.
Till
the escalation of anti-Armenian policy, Azerbaijan tried to drown the newly
independent Artsakh in blood trying to privatize Armenian history and area with
the help of weapons.The result was the imposed war to Armenians. The detailed
explanation of the phenomenon gives A. Manasyan,who writes: ‘ The Repulic of Azerbaijan declared by
breaking the USSR lwas, tried to take to
knees by force of weapons the newly independent country,to destroy its population
continuing Sumgait genocide strategy, to exterminate the people,who had the
right to live. Artsakh submitted the challenge,and, as the further events
showed,honorably got out of the trial’. It should be noted,that Azerbaijan’s claims, that Armenians
due to foreigners, rebels and mercenaries,are absurd,because in those days both
the Republic of Armenia and NKR were in such terrible social-economical
conditions,that they were unable to pay for mercenaries.We cannot ignore the
Chechen military leader Shamil Basayevs’ words: ‘ Struggling in Artsakh (
Karabakh) is worthless, The Azerbaijani people can’t defeat Armenians. We came
to Karakabh to struggle not for titles,but for the idea of jihad,but when we
reached and saw the situation,we understood,there there is no sign of
jihad.There were very few High-ranking officers in Azerbaijani army ,you could
trust.Armenians were prepared for the army better. Give me twenty Armenian
militaries and I will conquer Russia’8.
The
names and titles play an important role in forming the identity.Hamlet
Petrosyan writes about this: ‘…to call (to give name) means to create ‘9.
Due to the above-mentioned two quotes,we can conclude ,that being named
Azerbaijan,they ‘created’ Azerbaijan and Azerbaijani,but this is at least ridiculous.In
other words , creating a nation in some minutes, also its culture,history and
identity is absurdity. And to overcome the identity crisis,they began to use
all the possible and impossible means. On the way of identity crisis of
‘Azerbaijani’ we can single out the two main methods of their policy:
1.
To reach their goals through
degredation.This is the most popular method in Azerbaijan nowadays.They are
trying to show that they are devotional nation and have all the positive
attributes among other nations. In this way they want to increase ‘The
qualitative advantage’ towards Armenians reviling, diminishing and distorting
Armenian identity.
2.
Crossroad policy or past policy
research. With the help of this method they find something positive in the
history ,the owner of which is not fixed, and try to show as theirs, In case of
failure, they do not worry, because by and large they do not lose anything.
Epos,being
the ‘encyclopedia’ of the nation,their system of values is greatly important.
The Azerbaijani people don’t have an epos ,but considering the fact,that they
are part of Turkish nation,the latter being ‘the older brother’ of Azerbaijani
people, the Oghuz epos is also ascribed to the ancestors of Azerbaijani people.
In this epos the fundamental principles of identity formation are : to cut off heads,to shed blood,killing
etc.. Professor H. Mirzoyan writes about this: “ it’s not a secret that in
every epos there are scenes of killing,blood shedding but all these we can see
in war scenes by enforcement during the clash.Like all the other eposes, the
Oghus epos is also full of such scenes. But it’s different from all the other
eposes,because the scenes of mussacre we can see both in war-time and in
every-day life and it is considered to
be normal. Cuttting heads and shedding blood is regarded to be the maturity
step for a boy and courageous step for a man”. After the publication of professor
Mirzoyan’s issue there were quotes in
Azerbaijan.For this we can cite this Armenian proverb: “ The thief souths
first,hold the thief”.
All
of us know the ways of becoming a man,the ways to gain human dignity,glory and
honor, as well as the reasons and situations to kill people or to shed blood in Armenian epos ‘Sasna Tsrer’ . The topics
involved in Armenian educational system are in contrast with those in
Azerbaijani system.Of course some parts of the epic novel ‘ Sasna Tsrer’ are
involved in the education system for elementary and middle school literature,
particularly in the 6th grade "Literature" course textbook,where it
says:
Who
is asleep, awake,
Who
is awake, saddle the horses.
Who
has saddled, make weapons.
Who
has made, go and ride,
And
don’t say-David came as thief and want as thief.
The
above-mentioned ‘Who is sleeping,awake’ is the direct answer to the action of
Ramil Safarov,who killed with axe the Armenian officer Gurgen Margaryan when
sleeping.As well as in some other sections in our epos the values and
identities of Armenian nation are shown,the most remarkable out of which being
the great respect towards the older and the attempts not to kill the
civilians,of course,if they can be considered as civilians.In
particular,listening to a request by an old person in Meliq’s army,Davit did
not kill ordinary villagers who were forced to fight, but he continued to fight
with Meliq.On contrary to all these examples, there are constant violations by
Azerbaijani people though there is a tripartite
ceasefire agreement. As a result,the enemy openes fire on bordering villages
towards peaceful, unarmed and
defenseless residents, the examples are the recent attacks on the bordering positions
of NKR ,the following days the enemy bombarded the frontier regions.
As mentioned earlier, the Azeri side falsifies the real time-period of
their own history and background and interpretates out of the context the words
of the famous poet Al. Pushkin: “You're
a coward, you're a slave, you're an Armenian” (Ты трус, ты раб, ты армянин). This thought has been
speculated too much, even in demonstrations about the collapse of USSR, posters, books, media
information, in all possible ways.The above-mentioned has been analyzed and
covered a lot,but in different Azerbaijani sources there is a misunderstanding
and obvious bias,disregard to scientific approach.We will present the situation
and context in a simple and concrete way.
Tazite was a Chechen boy, whose education his father entrusted to a Circassian (acc. to a of the poem :Christ). With the words "You're a coward, you're a slave, you're Armenian"
he refused to Tazitits, bandit father, when his son, according to him, has
acted three sins not proper to Chechen.
Tazite hadn't killed and robbed unprotected traveler Armenian,and most
importantly,hadn’t taken the revenge of his brother from the wounded enemy.That’s why the father
considered his son to be coward,because he thinks only a coward would not kill
the unprotected enemy ,slave,as just slaves are able to evaluate their
freedom,and finally,Armenian,because only Armenians wouldn’t take the revenge
of a wounded and unprotected enemy.So Pushkin didn’t humiliate Armenians,but
made the whole world be aware of Armenians’ positive features and uniqueness.It
becomes more and more obvious the unfriendly attitude towards Armenians from
all the sectors,in the case,that behind all this stands political apparatus.
Without trying to interpret the moral level of the personnel of the apparatus,
it is obvious that at least the future generation of the Republic of Armenia
has been raised in an atmosphere of hostility and not with xenophobic ideology.This
was more than confirmed,when the murderer,who killed the Armenian officer with
axe,Hungary extradited him to Azerbaijan.Protests started in Armenia,and the
president of the Republic of Armenia asked to stop burning the flag,as people
were burning the national flag of Hungary.
After all, by and large, today’s promiscuity can be considered as the start,as
the anti-Armenian lobbying is gaining momentum, involving the Kurdish community.
So we need to prepare for a counterattack to this insidious politics,and this
time to give the last and devastating blow just with documents,main part of it
fake and forged …
